Privacy Notice

What we collect

• An anonymous ID cookie. A first-party cookie (wc_uid) holds a random identifier so we can count your free comics and remember credits you have bought. It is not linked to your name and is not shared with advertisers. This cookie is strictly necessary for the Service to work.
• What you type or upload. Character names, situations, and any photo you choose to upload. Photos are used only as a visual reference for generating your comic and are never published as-is.
• The comics you generate. The script, images, and audio we create for you, plus the settings used to create them.
• Basic technical logs. Our hosting provider records requests (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and debugging.
• Usage measurement. We use Google Analytics to count visits and to see which steps people get stuck on — pages viewed, whether a comic was started, finished or failed, and whether credits were bought. It sets its own cookies, and your IP address is anonymised before it is stored. We do not send it your prompts, uploads, or anything that identifies you.

We do not ask for your name, address, or date of birth, and we do not run advertising pixels or sell what we measure.

Payment data

Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record. They collect the billing details and card information needed to take payment and to calculate sales tax, and act as an independent controller for that data under their own privacy policy. We never receive or store your full card number. We receive a record that a purchase happened, its amount, and the anonymous ID it belongs to.

Who else processes your data

• AI providers (OpenAI, fal.ai, Amazon Web Services) — receive the prompt text, and any reference photo, in order to generate the comic and its voice lines.
• Hosting and storage (Vercel, Neon) — run the site and store generated comics.
• Dodo Payments — payments, invoicing, and tax, as described above.
• Google Analytics — anonymous usage measurement, as described above.

These providers may process data outside your country. We do not sell your data to anyone.

How long we keep it

Uploaded reference photos are kept only as long as needed to generate and serve your comic. Generated comics and the credit balance attached to your anonymous ID are kept while the Service operates, so your credits stay usable. Payment records are kept by Dodo Payments for as long as tax law requires.

Your choices and rights

Clearing your browser cookies detaches this browser from its anonymous ID — this also means any remaining credits can no longer be matched to you automatically, so contact us first if you have a balance.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, or to object to processing. Email support@makeacomic.app and we will respond. Because the Service is anonymous, we may ask for the anonymous ID or a purchase receipt so we can find the right records.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
